Tropical Cyclone Natural Disasters

Cyclones look like huge disks of clouds. They are between 10 and 15 kilometres thick. ... They are made of bands of storm clouds rolled into a spiral around a zone of very low pressure called the eye of the cyclone. Winds are drawn in toward the eye of the cyclone.

Tropical cyclones form near the equator and gain their energy from the heat that is released when water vapour condenses into rain. They are about 500 km across and may have a central region with relatively little cloud and light winds called the eye.

Cyclones have gale force winds with wind gusts in excess of 90 km/h around their centre. In the most severe cyclones, gusts can exceed 280 km/h. These winds can cause extensive property damage and turn airborne debris into potentially lethal missiles.

Tornado Facts

 Tornados are shaped as a cone and they reach up to 450 to 575 km per hour, thats fast. Tornados can happen any time anywhere but most are in the middle of the US called Tornado Alley. Tornados are very destructive they pull apart trees houses roads power lines really any thing that gets in its way. Make sure you stay as far as you can away from a tornado as you can get. stay underground or in your basement if a tornado comes.

Bible Story Of Jesus's Last Supper

Judas wanted money than anything he had a bad idea to do on Jesus. On Thursday at the Last Supper Jesus invited all of his disciples over Jesus said 'that the one of you will betray me 'Judas ran out, and Jesus broke some bread and poured some wine into to a cup and held it in front of the disciples

and said 'eat this bread all of you and drink this wine in memory of me.

The positive part of the story was when all the disciples ate the bread and the wine and gave thanks to Jesus about the food they was going to eat.

The negative part of the story was that Judas was going to betray Jesus and sent him to prison for money and that it was Jesus's Last Supper .

When Reading this story I felt : upset that Judas would sent Jesus to prison, Sad that it was Jesus last Supper.

If was Jesus and going to get betrayed I would be feeling: angry,annoyed,unhappy,upset.

If it was my last Supper the food I would have MC Donald's hot cakes with a banana milkshake.

Sensational Surfing

Yesterday on Wednesday year 7/8's went down to the beach to go SURFING!       

First we listened to the lifeguard that was teaching us about dangers and then we learned how to ride the surfboard. Then we hoped into our wet suit and we had to wait until the other group was done so we could go in.So while we waited, we went to the whale park we played in the sprinklers in the pool .We were running round like a crazy chickens,then we finally we went out to surf. 

My favourite bit of it was standing up on the surfboard twice! not bad for my first time. I would love to go surfing again! even though I fell off 7 times into the water.

NZSO Orchestra

 Last Thursday the Seniors went on a trip to the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra!  

First we hoped on the bus with pairs it took ages to get there. When we got off the bus there were tons of schools coming to watch the Orchestra with us. We got to sit on the balcony and we could see everyone that came to see the show.

 They played a musical play called ‘Peter and the Wolf’ different people were played by different instruments there was: Peter by the strings, Bird by the flute, Duck by the oboe,  Cat by the clarinet, Grandfather by the bassoon, Hunters by the drums, Wolf by the french horns.

I like most about the play is when the music went high and low.

The instrument that made the most interesting sound is the french horns.If i could play any instrument on the stage I would play the violin because it always makes me feel relaxed.

The music made me feel excited, happy, worried and it made me feel like I was in the play.
