Lion VS Eagle

Today in my class we were doing would you rather's here what it was:                 

Would you rather be an Eagle or an Lion?

Here's the problem: 49+21=

49-9=40 first take away the nine then you have 40 do the same with 21 so now 20

40+20=60 then you plus the 40 and the 20 together 

9+1=10 then you plus the 9 and 1 that you took off and that is 10

60+10=70 then plus the 10 and the 60 together and that is 70

your answer is 70
